Martine, born in South Africa, immigrated to New York in 1986 with her husband, Stanley. Her love of Israel and passion for Jewish education, social justice, and community - formed as early as her day school years - keep Martine busy 24/6 within the Jewish communal arena.
A past President of the Jewish Education Project, she is also a past Regional Chair of UJA-Federation of New York’s Westchester division, a member of the Neshamot Women’s Venture Philanthropy Fund, and an active leader at UJA, where she serves as Co-Chair of the Capital Campaign, sits on the cabinet of the Jewish Life Department, and serves on the Executive Committee of The Jewish Agency for Israel. She also serves on the boards of OLAM, Repair the World, the Jewish Communal Fund, and the Westchester Jewish Council.
In addition, Martine is a steering committee member of Mosaic United, an initiative of Israel’s Ministry of Diaspora Affairs, where she focuses on strengthening the relationship between Israel and the global Jewish diaspora. She is also a member of the leadership council of T.O.M. (Tikkun Olam Makers), as well as Adamah’s Council on Peoplehood and Planethood.
In her spare time, she enjoys family life, entertaining, travel, Jewish study, and exercise.
